It was all she could do- to type one word. Grace’s
sister.
A couple of times a day, she would send a text.
Love.
Love.
Love.
Love.
I was thinking about the impact of that one text. Making
us smile. Knowing that the sister of our friend, Grace, was communicating
a message of so much emotion in that one tiny word. Due to physical reasons,
she could only type one word. And even though she couldn't send a full
message or a sentence, she sent all she could send.
And so, on my way home that Monday morning, I got to
thinking. Forgiven kept coming to mind.
Forgiven
Forever
and ever
Forgiven for pursuing our own agendas. You know those times where we want what we want and hesitate from pouring out
love and grace to others around us.
Forgiven for being broken and imperfect. For making mistakes, for being mean, hurting
feelings, falling short, being irresponsible, being a rebel, straying from
God’s grace.
It’s an amazing feeling knowing that whatever you do, you
are forgiven in God’s eyes. You’re
released from those mistakes, wiped clean, given a fresh start, every single day, to move forward. To open up our arms, our hearts to the
world. To forgive others like we’ve been
forgiven from our own mistakes, slip
ups, moments we wish we could forget.
No matter how cool, awesome, fun we all are, we are
imperfect. Wonderfully imperfect so that
we may know the amazing power of God’s grace and forgiveness.
Hugs and love from your beautifully broken sister <3
